This is an easy, safe and FUN way for the whole family to experience genuine nature.
We’ll get you up close with wild deer and arapawa sheep as they roam freely in our game park.
No cages, no fences, no fake surroundings. These are wild deer living life as they should, in their natural environment.
The kids can even help our guide lay down food for them.
Be sure to bring your camera as there will be plenty of photo opportunities.
Arapawa sheep are a rare breed, and can look quite different from the stereotypical NZ sheep. They have superfine fleece, which can span a wide range of colours.
They also make good pets, though you can’t take one with you 😊
This half day adventure departs from Turangi with our friendly guide and starts at our wilderness property where you’ll get back to nature.
Take a walk through native bush and learn the history of the land with your guide and enjoy morning tea at the hut midway.
We also offer a special overnight family adventure, where you’ll get to stay in the on-site lodge and have a night time adventure spotting glow worms and other creatures.
This adventure is bound to be a highlight of your visit to the Central North Island for the whole family. As genuine nature becomes less accessible, this experience will give everyone a reminder of how these animals live in the wild.
There aren’t many places where the backcountry is as easily accessible as here.
This experience is available most days, but booking is essential.
